Dua Lipa, Tame Impala and Fred Again.. are reportedly being lined up as headliners for Coachella 2027.

According to a new report from industry publication Hits Daily Double, Lipa and Tame Impala are expected to headline next year’s edition of the California festival.

Fred Again.., meanwhile, is reportedly in contention for the special “Returning to the Desert” position that traditionally appears separately at the bottom of the festival poster.

A further top-billed slot is said to remain open, with BTS, SZA, Oasis and Radiohead all reportedly being pursued. For what it’s worth, the report claims that SZA is currently “way more likely” to secure the position than Oasis or Radiohead.

Miley Cyrus is also said to have been approached, but reportedly turned down the offer.

Coachella has not commented on the speculation and no artists have yet been officially confirmed for its 2027 line-up.

If the reports prove accurate, the festival would mark Lipa’s first-ever appearance at Coachella. Her latest album remains 2024’s ‘Radical Optimism’, much of which was produced by Tame Impala’s Kevin Parker.

The pair have continued to perform together since its release, with Lipa joining Parker at London’s O2 in May for a rendition of their collaboration ‘Houdini’.

Tame Impala have previously appeared at Coachella four times, first playing the festival in 2011 before returning in 2013 and 2015. Parker’s project went on to headline in 2019, shortly before the release of 2020 album ‘The Slow Rush’.

Their latest record, ‘Deadbeat’, arrived in October 2025 and saw Parker move further into dance and electronic territory. The band are also due to return to the UK and Europe for a run of arena shows with Wet Leg in May and June 2027, shortly after the proposed Coachella dates.

Fred Again.. last appeared at the festival in 2023, when he teamed up with Skrillex and Four Tet to close its second weekend. The trio were added to the programme at the last minute after Frank Ocean withdrew from weekend two due to injury.

Of the artists reportedly being considered for the remaining position, BTS will be nearing the end of their huge 2026 and 2027 world tour at the time of the festival. The K-pop group returned earlier this year with ‘ARIRANG’, and their stadium run is due to conclude in Manila on March 14, less than a month before Coachella begins.

SZA most recently appeared at the festival in April, joining Justin Bieber during his 2026 headline set to perform ‘Snooze’.

Oasis, meanwhile, have been widely tipped to return to the road in 2027 following the conclusion of their ‘Live ’25’ reunion tour last November.

Recent reports have suggested that a new UK and European tour could include an extensive Manchester residency and shows at Knebworth, although no dates have been officially announced.

Noel Gallagher added fuel to the rumours earlier today (September 2), when he said in a radio appearance: “Let’s put it this way: there’s no football tournament on next year, so we’ve got to do something in the summer, right?”

Radiohead also have live plans for next year, with guitarist Ed O’Brien saying in March that the band intend to play 20 shows on a different continent each year from 2027, following their 2025 comeback tour.

The group were also represented at Coachella this year through ‘Motion Picture House: KID A MNESIA’, a 75-minute audiovisual installation based on artwork created by Thom Yorke and Stanley Donwood.

Cyrus’s reported decision to pass on the festival follows her previous comments that she had no “desire” to undertake a full tour because of the difficulty of maintaining her mental wellbeing on the road.

She has since announced her tenth album, ‘Bass Persuades’, alongside two standalone Hollywood Bowl shows in Los Angeles this October. No wider tour has been confirmed.

Coachella 2027 will take place at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California across the weekends of April 9 to 11 and April 16 to 18.
