Life360 (NASDAQ: LIF) looks a bit lost this morning. The company reported Q2 results last night, and the stock is down 25.7% at 10:34 a.m. ET.

Missed Nvidia in 2009? This Rare Signal Is Flashing Again. In 2009, a “Double Down” signal flashed for a little-known chipmaker called Nvidia. For the first time in years, that same “Total Conviction” signal is flashing for a company 1/100th the size of Nvidia. Continue »

Strong growth, unmoved guidance

The provider of location-sharing and family safety services posted solid results. Q2 revenue rose 38% year-over-year to $159 million. International top-line growth of 45% outpaced the domestic 25% increase. GAAP earnings fell from $0.08 to $0.06 per diluted share, including an early tariff refund of $3.6 million.

Looking ahead, Life360 left its profitability and top-line revenue guidance unchanged, with some tweaks to the underlying components. The company is accelerating its exit from hardware sales in retail channels, resulting in a lower full-year revenue target for that segment. On the other hand, management boosted the midpoint of the full-year subscription revenue range from $472.5 million to $477.5 million.

But investors expected more. Life360 boosted its full-year targets three months ago, and the lack of further guidance lifts can be interpreted as a slowing growth engine. The rapidly dropping hardware sales also look scary.

An AI rebuild with a long fuse

The company is knee-deep in a transition to “AI-native” operations, automating many operations and adding personalization to the Life360 experience.

“We expect this transition to build faster execution and meaningful operating leverage over time,” CFO Russell Burke said on the earnings call. It’s a long-haul ambition, still in the early and costly part of the journey. The AI benefits should start to pay off in 2027 and beyond, according to Burke.

Underneath the sell-off, Life360’s growth engine looks intact. Crossing 100 million members is usually a good day at the office, not the reason for a 25.7% haircut. But that’s the deal when a company spends its call talking about next-year growth, pets, and aging parents instead of next quarter’s numbers. Sometimes, Wall Street has a short attention span.

The 2027 payoff Burke described is a long wait for day traders and a potential buying window for everyone else.
