Video showed large crowds carrying Spanish flags and chanting slogans against the socialist leader as they moved through the streets of the capital.
Organisers claimed around 120,000 people attended the rally, while government officials estimated the turnout at closer to 40,000.
The protest comes amid mounting political pressure on Sánchez and growing tensions between Spain’s government and opposition parties over several ongoing corruption investigations.
