UNC and NC State to play non-conference game for first time in almost 50 years

For the first time in nearly 50 years, UNC and NC State will face off in a non-conference men’s basketball game.

The Tar Heels and Wolfpack will meet Dec. 15 in Greensboro as part of the Tobacco Road Classic.

Tickets go on sale Sept. 10, according to WRAL.

The matchup comes after the ACC’s new scheduling model reduced the rivalry to one regular-season meeting each year.

This game gives the teams an opportunity to add another chapter to one of college basketball’s biggest rivalries.
