English wine business MDCV UK has taken a stake in the UK-based French rosé producer Après Provence.
The size of the stake was not disclosed, nor were the financial terms of the deal.
Alongside the investment, MDCV UK said in a statement that it will assume control of production and UK distribution of the Après Provence brand under a four-year contract.
MDCV UK told Just Drinks it has “always worked alongside Après to oversee the production”. It said it has also “always collaborated on distribution” although now the business “will take over this exclusively”.
Launched last year, Après Provence sells its Côtes de Provence rosé wine in the UK market, and has seen “rapid growth, securing listings across premium hospitality and retail channels”, according to the statement from MDCV UK.
The business is owned by Tom Glanfield, who is also its co-founder and CEO.
Après Provence is produced at the Château des Bertrands winery, which sits under MDCV UK’s sister business in France, MDCV Group. This business owns brands such as Ultimate Provence and Château de Berne.
Gary Smith, the CEO of MDCV UK, said: “This partnership reinforces MDCV UK’s strong position in Provence rosé within the UK.
“Alongside estates such as Ultimate Provence and Château de Berne, we see a clear
opportunity to further grow the category through our combined expertise in winemaking and distribution.”
As part of the tie-up, MDCV UK will support brand development and increase distribution through “premium on-trade, independent retail and national accounts”, it said in its statement.
Andy Turley, MD and co-founder of the rosé brand, added: “Partnering with MDCV gives us the scale, expertise, and support to accelerate our growth while staying true to what makes Après Provence different.”
MDCV UK and MDCV Group are owned by UK billionaire Mark Dixon, the founder and executive chairman of workspace solutions provider IWG.
While MDCV UK’s main market is the UK, the group told Just Drinks it also distributes its wines to the Nordics and Asia.
Other brands that it sells include English wine labels London Clay and Silverhand Estate.
MDCV UK owns one winery and bottling facility based at the Silverhand Estate in Kent. It also owns the Sedlescombe Vineyard in East Sussex, and “ancillary vineyards”, located in Bodiam in East Sussex and in Essex.
The UK business achieved a turnover of £9.6m ($12.7m) in 2025, up from the £6.4m it booked in 2024. It employs 160 people.
“MDCV UK invests in rosé brand Après Provence” was originally created and published by Just Drinks, a GlobalData owned brand.
