Dilin Jones is the star of the first quarter for LSU: The running back has carried it 10 times for 60 yards, including the touchdown.
So who is Jones? He’s a transfer from Wisconsin, where he started seven games last year before missing the rest of the season with a turf toe injury. Jones didn’t light up the stat sheet at Wisconsin, totaling 388 rushing yards in his two years at Wisconsin. But he was a well-regarded recruit coming out of high school, the nation’s sixth-ranked tailback, and Lane Kiffin and company saw him as an undervalued asset. So far, it looks like they were right.
