The PGA heads to TPC Twin Cities in Minnesota for the 3M Open. The course is listed at 7,451 yards, but effectively can play closer to 7,200 because players can cut corners and fly hazards. The greens are large and the winning score is usually closer to 20 under (unless weather becomes a factor). With water on 12 of the 18 holes, if you keep the ball out of penalty areas, expect birdies everywhere.

The player I’m eyeing to contend can hit with distance off the tee, is elite on approach, specifically with long-iron play, and can at least give themselves birdie chances. The historical course fit says accuracy does well here, yet several contenders and winners absolutely bomb it.

Switching things up from the typical placement market, here are the players I like this week.

Odds by DK Sports (with ties) and subject to change.

Group C Winner: Doug Ghim +315

Others in the group: Corey Conners, Ben James, Max Homa, Sungjae Im

For a birdie fest, Ghim could spike. He’s 19th in birdies despite being 124th in putting, which says his ballstriking is giving him opportunities. If the putter heats up a little bit, his scores can improve quickly. The rest of his game sets him up well, as he is 10th from tee to green and 11th in greens in regulation. If you told me putting is neutral for everyone over four rounds, Ghim would be the favorite of the group because his all-around game is above the rest. Conners has the higher long-term pedigree, but in a 32-round recent sample, Ghim’s fit is more solid.

Group F Winner: Ben Kohles +325

Others in the group: Casey Jarvis, Jason Day, Beau Hossler, Max Greyserman

Kohles is fourth on approach, sixth from tee to green and first in greens in regulation. If he has an average putting week, he won’t be a good pick to win this group but could still contend for at least a top-10 finish in the tournament. His iron play fits TPC Twin Cities perfectly, consistently gaining on approach and ballstriking. Plus, his recent trend has been quietly excellent; after back-to-back missed cuts in May, Kohles has since posted five straight top-30 finishes, including a T3 in the John Deere Classic and a win on the Korn Ferry Tour.

DFS Play: Jackson Suber, $8900

Suber’s form is trending up. He’s top 15 in fantasy points gained and birdie-or-better percentage and has had strong iron play of late. He finished fourth at RBC Canada before a respectable T28 at the U.S. Open. His overall 2026 season looks ugly due to the string of missed cuts early in the season. But since May, he has been a different golfer, with six top 30s in his last eight starts, including three top 10s. He’s making birdies, his approach game has heated up over the last two months and his recent finishes are better than the season-long data suggests.

Fade: Jake Knapp, $9,400

Knapp has the upside, but there are enough red flags to look elsewhere at this price. He has missed the cut in three of his last four starts and finished T74 just before that, so the recent form simply isn’t there. Reports of a lingering wrist/thumb injury (he was wearing a custom brace in the U.S. Open) add another layer of concern. That’s especially important for a player whose game relies on generating speed off the tee. TPC Twin Cities fits his strength, but in DFS, you’re paying for the ceiling. If Knapp carries meaningful ownership, I’d pivot to a healthier golfer with similar upside.

Fade: Keith Mitchell, $9,500

He’s priced as one of the safest plays in the field when his recent form says otherwise. Over the last 32 rounds, his profile is actually strong: 10th in birdie or better percentage, fourth on strokes gained off the tee. My concern is that he has two missed cuts in the last six starts and has a T51. He has been more volatile of late. I wouldn’t be shocked if Mitchell contends, so perhaps a placement wager makes more sense than DFS. Save a little salary or spend up for someone entering with more reliable recent form.
