The Mexican data center company KIO will pour more than a billion dollars into Querétaro by 2030 as part of an expansion to meet growing U.S. demand for artificial intelligence and data storage. KIO will spend up to US $1.3 billion to develop the QR03 project, a new data center in the El Marqués Industrial Park in Querétaro city’s eastern outskirts. British cyclist Finlay Tarling, 19, died Friday in a crash during the eighth stage of the Tour of Portugal, race organisers and his NSN Development Team said. Organisers said on social media that Tarling died following a “serious accident” on the stage between Melgaco and Fafe. A California bill that would have limited the price for concert tickets that are resold in the state has failed. The bill, known as AB 1720, also known as the California Fans First Act, failed to move forward from the States Appropriations Committee on Thursday. The Mexican peso broke the 17-unit-per-dollar floor and was trading at around 16.98 per U.S. dollar in wholesale transactions early Friday before inching up to just over the 17 mark near midday. For two days, the peso had flirted with dipping below 17, a milestone that reinforces the strength of the local currency in international financial markets while also attracting investor attention.
