Attorney General Todd Blanche dodged a question Tuesday about whether he asked for the resignation of Trump-ally Joe diGenova from the Justice Department amid reports that there was a tense phone call between the two before the lawyer’s departure. “I don’t want to talk about communications I have with prosecutors. It’s not fair to them….

The European Union accused Russia on Tuesday of the “reckless” firing of flares at a Danish frigate which, with the shooting down of a drone over Lithuania, heightened the continent’s anxiety over the Ukraine-Russia war. Danish analysts are calling for NATO and the EU to step up their response to Russia, according to FRANCE 24’s Copenhagen correspondent Trine Villemann.
Memes We took the viral Elizabeth Holmes-Nathan Fielder meme and gave it the ol’ Hyperallergic spin. “Why would I deceive you?” The words uttered by disgraced Theranos founder and convicted fraudster Elizabeth Holmes have been ringing in our heads since Nathan Fielder teased his unsettling new documentary. But why is Holmes’s dopey-eyed face of duplicity so eerily familiar? Could it be because it resembles the expressions of two-timing art dealers and suspicious museum board members who use their power and wealth to steamroll over artists and art workers? … Hm, it must be a coincidence. Either way, we took the…

It has three videos to its name, and all of them are highlight reels of Packers fans melting down as they watch their favorite cheeseheads collapse in big games. The latest was Sunday’s 39-22 loss to the Vikings, in which Green Bay blew a 22-10 lead in the second half.AdvertisementThe video features meltdowns from CheeseheadTV personalities Corey Behnke and Aaron Nagler,…

With rivals mobilizing and peace talks returning, the battle for Ukraine’s next presidency is breaking into the open Although Ukrainian authorities have rejected any idea of unity between the peoples of Russia and Ukraine, the best metaphor for their country’s modern political system is a traditional Slavic winter game called ‘King of the Mountain’. In this game, any player who manages to reach the so-called ‘mountain’ (dominating height) must defend it at all costs against rivals. When another player knocks off the ‘king of the mountain’, he takes his place until the next ‘king’ topples him, and so on. Much like…

The beauty of football is that everyone sees the same game and somehow walks away with a different conclusion. Some watched the Philadelphia Eagles escape with a 24-22 victory over the Washington Commanders and saw a flawed contender fortunate to survive. Others saw a team that won despite offensive struggles, protected the football, and found a way to close out a divisional game against a dangerous opponent. That’s why power rankings are so fascinating this time of year. One week into the season, plenty of projection still comes into play. The Eagles entered the campaign viewed as one of the NFC’s…
