The Rolex Los Angeles Sail Grand Prix will be the first of three U.S. races this season, with the Oracle San Francisco Sail Grand Prix (March 22 & 23) and the Mubadala New York Grand Prix (June 7 & 8) to follow.The Rolex SailGP Championship is redefining the sport of sailing as an annual global championship in iconic cities around the world.

The event features 12 national teams battling it out in identical 50-foot foiling catamarans, racing faster than wind speeds at over 60 miles per hour. With its close-to-shore stadium racing at the water’s edge, SailGP puts fans at the heart of the action.SailGP CEO and co-founder Sir Russell Coutts, who claimed Olympic gold at the Los Angeles 1984 Games, said:

“We are thrilled to host the Rolex SailGP Championship – the most exciting racing on water – in Los Angeles, marking the start of our U.S. events for this season. SailGP will bring thousands of people together to enjoy its close-to-shore racing and entertainment – an unforgettable experience.”

Honoring Los AngelesThe Rolex Los Angeles Sail Grand Prix, taking place on Berth 46 at the Port of Los Angeles, will be free to attend for LA first responders and their families, as well as families affected by the fires. Ticketholders are encouraged to donate to the Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation, aiding the immediate and long-term needs of those impacted.

The event will provide a welcome boost to local businesses and the community – the last Los Angeles Sail Grand Prix (July 2023) demonstrated an estimated economic impact of $6.9 million to the city of Los Angeles, benefiting hotels, restaurants, local businesses and more.
