The Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, said:
“The Government has repeatedly ignored calls for reform from experts, charities and third sector organisations and this report makes clear the negative impact Universal Credit will continue to have on Londoners already struggling to make ends meet as well as those with long-term health conditions or disabilities.
“With rising unemployment and many households facing financial uncertainty as a result of Covid-19, more Londoners will sadly come to rely on Universal Credit for support. The Government must act quickly to ensure all Londoners have the support they need to survive this difficult period and get back on their feet.”
