Event to Provide Free Resources, Education and Activities to the Local Community
Continuing to be a Force For Good in the community, the Los Angeles Football Club (LAFC) and Banc of California are set to host a Community Resource Fair on Saturday, August 10 at Banc of California Stadium. The free event will provide resources, information and education in several areas, including safety, financial literacy, health and wellness, college and career planning, youth education, legal advice and more.
Numerous local organizations, nonprofits and partners will be participating in the event alongside LAFC and presenting partner, Banc of California. Bringing information about public and mental health resources, Bienestar Human Services and the South Central Family Health Center will be on hand offering free health screenings and other health related resources.
Neighbors to Banc of California Stadium in Exposition Park, the California Science Center and Natural History Museum will offer interactive science activities for children and information on exhibits and volunteer opportunities. Rounding out the safety education category, California Highway Patrol (CHP), Kids Are 1st and BIRD, the popular electric scooter company, will all have activations, including safety demonstrations and helmet giveaways.
Local government will have a significant presence during Saturday’s event, including the offices of Assemblyman Reggie Jones-Sawyer Sr. and Senator Holly Mitchell. All will be available with information on state agencies, local issues and Census employment opportunities. The National Association of Latino Elected Officials (NALEO) will be on hand with important citizenship and voter registration information alongside the employment agency, JVS SoCal, who will bring job placement opportunities and information on college and continual education.
Additionally, the Resource Fair will host games and activities for children, including a rock climbing wall, arts and crafts, face painting, soccer darts and more. The event is free and open to the public.
