Secretary Pompeo spoke with Prime Minister Barzani of the Kurdistan Regional Government. The Secretary congratulated the Prime Minister and the Kurdistan Regional Government on successful government formation. The Secretary stressed continued appreciation for progress in resolving outstanding Baghdad-Erbil issues according to the Iraqi constitution’s framework for dialogue. The Secretary also underscored the continued commitment of the United States to the government and people of Iraq.
