With the win, LAFC remains atop the MLS standings with a 4-0-1 record (13 points). The 5-0 scoreline is LAFC’s largest win in Club history and it also matched the Quakes’ worst-ever defeat in home soil.

Forward Carlos Vela remains in top form this season, tallying his first hat-trick since joining MLS with goals in the 8th, 45’+3rd, and 66th minutes. The Mexican forward also notched his third assist of the season – setting up forward Diego Rossi in the 68th minute. Defender Steven Beitashour registered his first goal since June 9, 2018 – also against San Jose.

LAFC travels to the nation’s capital to take on D.C. United next weekend. Kickoff at Audi Field is scheduled for 12:00 p.m. PT (FOX, ESPN 710 AM, 980 AM). Last year, the Black & Gold and D.C. battled to a 1-1 draw on in the lone meeting of the season on May 26 at Banc of California Stadium.
