The Los Angeles Football Club (LAFC) announced today the launch of the newest cultural player tee through LAFC midfielder, Lee Nguyen. Celebrating Nguyen’s Vietnamese heritage, the brand-new tee features “Los Angeles Football Club” written in Vietnamese across the chest, with the LAFC crest located on the left side of the shirt, above the heart.
Nguyen’s shirt is the third cultural player tee that LAFC has produced since the Club’s inaugural season last year. All cultural tees incorporate different language iterations of Los Angeles Football Club, and have been introduced through LAFC players and their respective languages – Arabic (Omar Gaber), Farsi (Steven Beitashour) and Vietnamese (Lee Nguyen). LAFC is the first Club in MLS to produce a Vietnamese player tee.
Nguyen’s player tee launch will take place this Sunday at the Boiling Crab in Garden Grove, a city situated in the heart of Little Saigon. Located in Orange County, Little Saigon covers a three mile area split between Garden Grove, Santa Ana and Fountain Valley. Boasting 4,000 Vietnamese-American businesses, including hundreds of restaurants and shops, Little Saigon is home to over 189,000 Vietnamese-Americans.
The LAFC midfielder along with the Club’s Merch Truck will both be on hand for the launch of the tee. Fans and supporters are invited to come check out the new shirt, grab some food and enjoy the Black & Gold spirit in Orange County.
