In a vote on 29 January, the European Parliament’s Civil Liberties Committee has approved a European Commission proposal designed to ensure visa free travel for EU and UK citizens after Brexit, namely after Britain leaves the EU.

Under the proposal, after Brexit day on 29 March, UK citizens will be able to travel for short stays without a visa in the EU and EU citizens will be able to do the same in the UK.

EPP Group spokesperson Pál Csáky explained why the EU wants to ensure a visa free regime and why it is so important for British and EU citizens.
