LOS ANGELES — What a way to start the year! Tuesday night in Los Angeles the 76ers played a match against the Clippers, and won the game 119-113.
It is no doubt that the team played a great game last night, especially with players like Joel Embiid who had been out on Sunday night when they took an L against the Trail Blazers, but came back into the game hard against the Clippers with 28 points and 19 rebounds. but the score wasn’t the only thing that was hot last night! As a few altercations occurred on the court, tension was running high with both teams.
In the third quarter Embiid received an unintentional elbow to the face by teammate Ben Simmons which did not sit well with Embiid according to the things he said on court (yikes!) but to clear things up he stated “It was all basketball play, nothing to talk about.”
Clearly there was a lot more going on when soon after during the fourth quarter both words and pushing were exchanged by Embiid, and Clippers player Patrick Beverley after a small incident during a foul. Not so long after that another physical altercation occurred involving Butler and Bradley, who were both ejected.
“It’s the day after New Years!” Simmons exclaimed, “I think everybody’s a little tired.” True or not, the good thing is they won the game.
