Secretary Michael R. Pompeo spoke today with Omani Foreign Minister Yusuf bin Alawi bin Abdullah. The Secretary thanked the Foreign Minister for Oman’s longtime friendship and strategic partnership with the United States, as well as Oman’s engagement on the region’s most challenging issues. On Yemen, the Secretary and the Foreign Minister agreed on the urgent need for a cessation of hostilities. The Secretary and the Foreign Minister reaffirmed the importance of all parties working toward a political agreement to end the conflict and bring peace, prosperity, and security to Yemen.
