TEGUCIGALPA, Honduras, 31 de octubre de 2017 /PRNewswire-HISPANIC PR WIRE/ — A partir de los diferentes comentarios provenientes del Grupo Asesor Internacional de Personas Expertas, GAIPE, y de miembros del Consejo Cívico de Organizaciones Populares e Indígenas de Honduras, COPINH, sumado a otras organizaciones internacionales, Desarrollos Energéticos S.A., DESA, reitera que está totalmente desvinculada a cualquier acto de violencia. Del mismo modo, el Proyecto Hidroeléctrico Agua Zarca trabaja en todo momento apegado a lo que establece la Ley en Honduras, respetando los derechos humanos y el medioambiente.
Referente al reporte del GAIPE, mismo que ha sido financiado por el COPINH, Agua Zarca informa a la comunidad internacional que en noviembre pasado DESA se reunió con miembros del GAIPE, quienes tuvieron la oportunidad de ver que Agua Zarca está totalmente desvinculado a cualquier acto de violencia, así como comprobar que se trata de un proyecto que trabaja por la generación de empleo, el desarrollo de las comunidades y respeto del medioambiente.
Durante esta reunión, Agua Zarca invitó al GAIPE a conformar una Mesa de Diálogo por la Paz, misma que fue rechazada por el GAIPE a través de una carta que establece que su participación en dicha mesa de diálogo no forma parte de su misión.
Es importante mencionar que las partes interesadas han tenido acceso a la información que se incluye en el reporte desde mayo del presente año, sin embargo, se ha elegido publicarlo a pocos días de las elecciones generales en Honduras. Con esto, Agua Zarca hace un llamado al respeto de la institucionalidad y la Ley en el país, para así construir una Honduras más próspera para todos.

Hydroelectric Agua Zarca always respects the Rule of Law in Honduras
TEGUCIGALPA, Honduras, Oct. 31, 2017 /PRNewswire-HISPANIC PR WIRE/ — Based on the different comments from the International Advisory Group of Experts, GAIPE, and members of the Civic Council of Popular and Indigenous Organizations of Honduras, COPINH, together with other international organizations, Desarrollos Energéticos SA, DESA, reiterates that it is totally disconnected to any act of violence. Likewise, the Agua Zarca Hydroelectric Project works at all times in accordance with the provisions of the Law in Honduras, respecting human rights and the environment.
Regarding the GAIPE report, which has been funded by COPINH, Agua Zarca informs the international community that last November DESA met with GAIPE members, who had the opportunity to see that Agua Zarca is totally disconnected from any act of violence, as well as verify that it is a project that works to create quality jobs, to improve development of communities and respect for the environment.
During this meeting, Agua Zarca invited GAIPE to set up a Dialogue for Peace, which was rejected by GAIPE through a letter stating that its participation in such dialogue is not part of its mission.
It is important to mention that all interested parties have had access to the information included in the report since May of this year, however, it has been chosen to publish it a few days before the general elections in Honduras. With this, Agua Zarca calls for respect for the institutions and the law in the country, in order to build a better country for everyone.
