Following the devastating 7.1 magnitude earthquake in central Mexico, USAID activated Los Angeles County Fire Department’s Urban Search and Rescue Team to assist in the rescue and recovery efforts in Mexico City. This team is comprised of firefighters and paramedics, rescue specialists, emergency room physicians, structural engineers, heavy equipment specialists, canine search dogs and handlers, hazardous materials technicians, communications specialists, and logistics specialists. We wish them a safe and and successful mission.
