Netflix será el hogar exclusivo de la franquicia de American Crime Story en 2017

BEVERLY HILLS, California, 25 de julio de 2016 /PRNewswire-HISPANIC PR WIRE/ — Netflix y 20th Century Fox Television Distribution anunciaron hoy su primer acuerdo global de licenciamiento. Netflix será el hogar de streaming exclusivo de la aclamada franquicia de Fox, The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story. La primera temporada de la franquicia estará disponible a nivel global en Netflix, con excepción de Canadá, en 2017, y las demás temporadas estarán disponibles luego de su transmisión respectivamente. La primera temporada, The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story, fue nominada a 22 premios Emmy® y terminó su entrega de 10 episodios como la serie nueva más vista en cable de 2016.

De los productores ejecutivos Nina Jacobson, Brad Simpson, Scott Alexander, Larry Karaszewski y Brad Falchuk,  y protagonizada por John Travolta, Cuba Gooding Jr., Sarah Paulson, David Schwimmer, Courtney B. Vance, Sterling K. Brown, Nathan Lane, Kenneth Choi, Christian Clemenson y Bruce Greenwood, esta serie es producida por Fox 21 Television Studios y FX Productions.

La primera temporada de esta serie de antología gira entorno al juicio de O.J. Simpson y explora las maniobras y tratos hechos detrás de cámaras por ambos lados de la corte, revelando cómo una combinación de exceso de confianza por parte de la acusadora, astucia por parte de la defensa y la historia del Departamento de Policía de Los Ángeles con la comunidad afroamericana de la ciudad, le dio al juzgado lo que necesitaba: una duda razonable. La segunda temporada de American Crime Story enfocada en el huracán Katrina, se estrenará en FX el próximo año.

Netflix to be Exclusive Global Streaming Home of FX’s American Crime Story Franchise in 2017

BEVERLY HILLS, California, July 25, 2016 /PRNewswire-HISPANIC PR WIRE/ — Netflix and 20th Century Fox Television Distribution today announced their first global SVOD licensing agreement. Netflix will be the exclusive global streaming home for FX’s hit, American Crime Story. The first season of the franchise will be available globally on Netflix, excluding Canada, in 2017 with all seasons made available after their respective broadcast windows. The 22-time Emmy® nominated first season,The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story concluded its 10-episode run as cable’s most-watched new series of 2016.

From executive producers Ryan Murphy, Nina Jacobson, Brad Simpson, Scott Alexander, Larry Karaszewski and Brad Falchuk,The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story stars John Travolta, Cuba Gooding Jr., Sarah Paulson, David Schwimmer, Courtney B. Vance, Sterling K. Brown, Nathan Lane, Kenneth Choi, Christian Clemenson and Bruce Greenwood. The limited series is produced by Fox 21 Television Studios and FX Productions.

The first season of this limited series goes inside the O.J. Simpson trial and explores the chaotic, behind-the-scenes dealings and maneuvering on both sides of the court, and how a combination of prosecution overconfidence, defense shrewdness and the LAPD’s history with the city’s African-American community gave a jury what it needed: reasonable doubt. The second season of American Crime Story focusing on Hurricane Katrina will debut on FX next year.
