Sheriff John Scott, interim Sheriff of Los Angeles County, has indicated his full endorsement and support of Jim McDonnell, current Chief of Long Beach PD, for Sheriff of Los Angeles County in the upcoming November 4th election.

Sheriff Scott, a 37 year veteran with the department, has worked closely with Jim McDonnell while he was second in command of the LAPD, and more recently as the Chief of Police in Long Beach.

“I have every confidence that Jim will make an outstanding Sheriff of Los Angeles County.  He is the right person, at the right time, to take the leadership role and re-build this department.”

Sheriff Scott will term out on December 1st with the swearing-in of the next Sheriff.

“It is my hope that the voters of Los Angeles County will select a man of unquestionable integrity and proven leadership skills, with well over thirty years of law enforcement experience in LA.”

Much work has been done over the last ten months; much more work is still needed. Jim McDonnell is the right person to get the job done!
