Chief Jim McDonnell recently received the endorsement of the Peace Officers Research Organization of California (PORAC).

PORAC is the largest public safety association in the State of California, representing 900 member organizations and 67,000 officers and deputies.  PORAC is committed to the highest standards of professional policing, and has worked to raise the bar on law enforcement training, research and education.

I am proud to have PORAC’s endorsement.  I am also honored by the breadth and depth of support I have received from a wide array of law enforcement leaders and organizations during this campaign, including the California Police Chiefs Association,California Peace Officers’ Association, California Reserve Peace Officers Association, the Los Angeles Area Fire Chiefs, and many more.

These voices have joined with organizations that have advocated for police reform, all of my fellow Commissioners on the Citizens’ Commission on Jail Violence and key law enforcement unions — including the Association for Los Angeles Deputy Sheriffs and the Professional Peace Officers Association – in expressing their confidence in my ability to bring the leadership and vision needed as Sheriff of L.A. County.
