LOS ANGELES COUNTY —At the weekly meeting of the Board of Supervisors, Supervisor Michael D. Antonovich honored former NBA player Brad Wright and his wife Meshun for their generous donation to Los Angeles County foster youth. On December 2, 2012, Mr. Wright and his wife, treated 600 children and teens in the Los Angeles County Foster System — along with about 700 children from area schools and nonprofit organizations — to a performance at the Ramos Brothers Circus.
Mr. Wright — a UCLA alumnus who played for the New York Knicks and Denver Nuggets — and his wife were on their way to buy a car when they had the idea to treat more than 1000 kids to a “Day at the Circus.” Buying out the circus was his way of welcoming his 3-year-old adopted daughter, Melanie, to the family and to show her what it means to give back. Johnny Rockets provided free food to all the kids and their families, as well as unlimited milkshakes.
