CARSON, Calif. (Friday, November 2, 2012) – Following their 2-1, come-from-behind win over Vancouver Whitecaps FC on Thursday night, the LA Galaxy will now face the rival San Jose Earthquakes in the Western Conference Semifinals. The first leg of that two-game, aggregate goal series will be played at The Home Depot Center on Sunday, November 4 with kickoff scheduled for 6 p.m.
Tickets for this game, which is presented by The Flame Broiler, are on sale now, starting at $30, through the club’s official website www.lagalaxy.com.
Prior to Sunday’s game, the Galaxy will be collecting monetary donations for Hurricane Sandy relief efforts. GalaxyAcademyplayers and Red Cross volunteers will be stationed outside each entrance at The Home Depot Center from 4-6 p.m. to collect donations. All donations will support the American Red Cross’ Hurricane Sandy disaster relief efforts.
The Galaxy will hold their final training session ahead of the game at 10 a.m. on Saturday on the stadium field at The Home Depot Center. The first 15 minutes of that session will be open to the media for photos and b-roll with all interviews to follow the expected 60-75 minute session. All media members who are interested in attending Saturday’s training session are asked to park in Lot 17 and will be allowed to enter training the stadium through the Southeast entrance.
The second leg of the Western Conference Semifinal Series between the Galaxy and Earthquakes will be played on Wednesday, November 7 at Buck Shaw Stadium in Santa Clara, Calif. That game kicks off at 8 p.m. (PT) and will be shown live on ESPN2 and ESPN Deportes. It will also be available locally on the radio on KTLK 1150 AM in English and 1220 KWKU in Spanish, as well as on Satellite radio on SiriusXM on Ch. 94.
If the Galaxy advance past San Jose, they will face the winner of the Semifinal Series between RealSaltLake and Seattle Sounders FC in the Western Conference Championship. The Galaxy, who have played in each of the last three Western Conference Championships, would host the first leg of that series at 6 p.m. on Sunday, November 11 from The Home Depot Center with the second leg being played on the road on either Saturday, November 17 or Sunday, November 18.
