Martha Flores-Gibson is running for the State Assembly 70th District. The district covers Long Beach, San Pedro, Signal Hill and Avalon.
Martha has been a resident of Long Beach since her childhood and is a proud graduate of the Long Beach School system. She holds a Master of Science in Social Work and School Administrative Credential from CSULB. Martha has a Doctorate in Education Leadership and Change from the Fielding University in Santa Barbara CA. She worked at the Department of Children and Family Services as a Social Worker, before she was hired by the Long Beach School District over 18 years ago.
During her years with the School District, she successfully implemented special programs to respond to the various needs of the students in the district, additionally, she was tasked with providing support to teachers, counselor, principals, and administrators to increase student achievement for all students.
Martha and her Husband Steve are also involved in a very successful small business that provided affordable legal service to individuals and businesses.
Martha has strong leadership abilities. As a leader Martha has a passion for community development and transformation. She knows that this is what stimulates the ability to make a life changing impact maintaining it and keeping it. Martha also believes that all people can learn from one another. This is the leadership needed in tough economical times for ALL Californians.
