Andy Warhol, Self-Portrait, 1986, synthetic polymer paint and silkscreen ink on canvas. A previous version of this article incorrectly stated that the two 1965 Miriam Davidson portraits were consigned by MutualArt. MutualArt has in fact consigned Andy Warhol’s 1986 Self-Portrait, which is currently on view alongside the Miriam Davidson canvases at Bonhams’ 57th Street gallery. We sincerely regret the error. As part of the public display at Bonhams’ flagship gallery at 111 West 57th Street, notable works by Andy Warhol are currently on view through October 8. Among these is an iconic 1986 Self-Portrait. Consigned by MutualArt, this striking late-career…

In the end, Casey Bloys knew he was holding all the cards. As the industry continued to speculate about whether the HBO boss or Paramount’s Cindy Holland would wind up with control of the two companies’ soon-to-be-merged streaming behemoth, in recent weeks the momentum seemed to be on Bloys’ side. So when Paramount direct-to-consumer chair Holland told colleagues Tuesday that she would be leaving, her staff at the company was disappointed — having seen firsthand the exec’s tremendous impact inside the company over the past year — but not surprised. Fontaines D.C. have shared another new single, ‘Tongue’ – you can listen to it below. The track will appear on the Dublin band’s fifth studio album, ‘Dopamine Chamber’, released on October 16 via XL Recordings. It follows on from lead single ‘Marianne’, which arrived last month. It’s been said that writing about music is like dancing about architecture. But what about writing about writing? That often seems even more impossible, and fruitless, than doing a tango to explain, say, the Guggenheim in Bilbao. Look to the most recent example, the new film Verity, in which Anne Hathaway plays a writer who is said to go to such dark places in her popular novels that one must assume she herself is some sort of wicked entity. Only, every time we see or hear that writing in the film, it’s about as banal as something James Patterson wrote…
Calling for change is one thing — actually delivering on it is another beast altogether.
