Teddi Mellencamp is spilling the tea about the moment her new boyfriend met her dad, John Mellencamp, and her estranged husband, Edwin Arroyave.
“He got along effortlessly with the fam: my brothers, my sisters, my dad,” Teddi, 45, revealed on the Wednesday, August 12, episode of iHeartRadio’s “Two T’s in a Pod” podcast. “My dad met him, but then didn’t say anything straight away. He just was like, ‘Hi, nice to meet you.’ But I just kept it moving because I was with so many people. And then yesterday, my dad comes over. He lights up a cig. ‘You gonna try not to tell me that was your guy that you introduced me to? You thought you were just gonna slip that in?’”
On Monday, August 10, Teddi and her boyfriend — known to listeners as Valley Guy — traveled to the Hollywood Bowl to see John, 74, perform.
Teddi’s closest family and friends — including Kyle Richards — were able to experience the concert under the stars in Los Angeles.
When podcast cohost Dolores Catania asked what it was like for Edwin, 49, to meet Valley Guy at the concert, Teddi said the introduction went more than “fine.”
“I mean, Edwin definitely gave him one little zinger. Edwin was like, ‘Oh, maybe you got done with your finals in time,’” Teddi said while referencing her new man’s younger age. “And Valley guy was like, ‘It was a presentation.’”
In a surprise turn of events, Teddi went Instagram official with Valley Guy after the concert. And yes, she revealed his name for the first time.

“First he met a cougar. Then he met The Cougs. #valleyguy aka PJ @pjconleyy #iykyk @two.ts.inapod,” Teddi wrote via Instagram on Tuesday, August 11, while wearing a wig from Chloe Bean. (She has been sporting a number of fun new looks and showing off her hair regrowth while recovering from treatments for stage IV melanoma.) “Thanks to everyone who came out to support @johnmellencamp last night. It was incredible seeing everyone have the time of their lives.”
With PJ Conley’s page private, Teddi joked that she will likely continue referring to her new man — who is a University of Southern California grad and financial analyst — as Valley Guy on the podcast.

“I don’t think we could change his name to his real name. I think he’s got to just stay the Valley Guy forever,” she joked. “I mean, he’s not from this valley, but his hometown has a valley in it, so it still counts.”
After spotting Teddi’s Instagram on her feed, Dolores, 55, couldn’t help but express her excitement over her friend’s current chapter.
“Wait, was that him in the pictures on Instagram? Oh, he’s cute,” she said. “He’s got a nice face and he looks like he’s nice. I saw he looked happy.”
