Umar Nurmagomedov and Song Yadong will get their wish of throwing down.
Nurmagomedov (20-1 MMA, 7-1 UFC) takes on Song (23-9-1 MMA, 12-4-1 UFC) in the UFC Fight Night headliner on Aug. 29 from Shanghai Oriental Sports Center in China. People with knowledge of the booking verified the matchup to MMA Junkie following an initial report from Red Fury MMA.

The UFC announced that Nurmagomedov will face David Martinez in the UFC Fight Night 282 co-headliner on July 25 from Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi, but it appears Martinez never signed on for the fight.
Instead, Nurmagomedov meets Song, who’s coming off a Performance of the Night submission of Deiveson Figueiredo in the the UFC Fight Night 277 main event last month. Prior to that, the Chinese fighter lost a close decision to Sean O’Malley at UFC 324.
Meanwhile, Nurmagomedov rebounded from his title loss to Merab Dvalishvili at UFC 311 with back-to-back unanimous decision wins over Mario Bautista, and most recently Deiveson Figueiredo at UFC 324.
