Koeman was asked how he scored one spot kick in his career and looked bemused.
“I don’t remember,” he said. “I didn’t do a lot of practising of penalties, because you can train a free kick. Sometimes you can train a bit when having to shoot a penalty but everything depends on the moment as well.
“Some goalkeepers wave with their hands — you have to focus on goalkeeping, you have to be really focused when you run up to the ball. If you’re dwelling, doubting that’s not good — that’s the quality of a player, you have it or you don’t have it. It is important to be able to score from a penalty and I was lucky at that point of time in the past.”
