The Chicago Bears almost watched their season flash right before their eyes last week when Caleb Williams went down with an injury against the Minnesota Vikings. At the time, it was unclear what happened to the Bears quarterback.

After the game, there was still no update. The only thing known was that he would undergo tests.
“Bears quarterback Caleb Williams will undergo tests Monday to determine the severity of the right hamstring injury he sustained against the Vikings,” ESPN’s Courtney Cronin wrote. “Williams exited Chicago’s 9-3 loss to the Vikings midway through the fourth quarter with the Bears deep in Minnesota territory.”
Williams suffered a hamstring injury that didn’t seem as severe as many had initially suspected. The Bears quarterback had a reaction to the injury that made it seem like it could be season-ending. However, head coach Ben Johnson revealed that Williams was considered week-to-week.
“Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams has been ruled out for Monday night’s game against the Philadelphia Eagles. Williams injured his right hamstring late in Chicago’s 9-3 loss to the Vikings in Week 2. He did not practice ahead of the Eagles game and is considered week-to-week,” Cronin wrote.

On Sunday morning, the exact extent of the injury was revealed by ESPN’s Adam Schefter. Williams will miss three to four weeks with a Grade 2 hamstring injury.
“Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams has a Grade 2 hamstring injury that doctors consider a three-to-four-week injury, league sources told me and RapSheet,” Schefter posted.
The injury could keep Williams out for up to a month, but that is honestly a win considering how he went down last week. The Bears will look to hold their own while their franchise quarterback is out.
Chicago has a lot to be thankful for, especially with this timeline indicating Williams should be back this season. He doesn’t miss starts often, so he will be eager to get back on the field once he is fully healthy.
