General Glen VanHerck is Commander, North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) and United States Northern Command (USNORTHCOM).  NORAD conducts aerospace warning, aerospace control, and maritime warning in the defense of North America.  USNORTHCOM conducts homeland defense, civil support, and security cooperation to defend and secure the United States and its interests.

General VanHerck is a graduate of the University of Missouri and was commissioned through the Reserve Officer Training Corps program.  He has a diverse operational and training background that includes assignments in the F-15C, F-35A, B-2A, and B-1B with over 3,200 flight hours.  He has served as an instructor pilot and flight examiner in the F-15C, B-2A, and T-6A.  Additionally, he served as a U.S. Air Force Weapons School instructor in the F-15C and the B-2A.

He has commanded at the squadron, group and twice at the wing level, including the 325th Weapons Squadron, the 71st Operations Group, the 7th Bomb Wing, the 509th Bomb Wing.  As a Major General, he commanded the U.S. Air Force Warfare Center.  His staff assignments include tours as the Chief of the B-2 Program Element Monitor at Headquarters Air Combat Command, the Director of Operations at Headquarters Air Force Global Strike Command, the Director of Plans and Integration at U.S. Strategic Command, the Vice Director of Strategy, Plans and Policy (J5) at the Joint Staff, and the Vice Director of the Joint Staff.

Prior to his current assignment, he was the Director of the Joint Staff at the Pentagon.  In this capacity, he assisted the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff in his role as advisor to the President and Secretary of Defense, coordinated and directed activities of the Joint Staff in support of the Chairman, and served as the Staff Inspector General.

GENERAL SECRETARY OF MEXICO DEFENSE LUIS CRESENCIO SANDOVAL

Graduated in Military Administration and Diploma of General Staff (D.E.M.) from the Higher School of War, he has a Master’s Degree in Military Administration for National Security and Defense from the National Defense College.

He reached the rank of General of Division Diploma of General Staff on November 20, 2017.

He has been commander of units at all command levels, among which are:

Commander of the 6th. Motorized Cavalry Regiment.
Commander of the 7th. Motorized Cavalry Regiment.
Commander of the Military Garrison of Piedras Negras, Coah.
Commander of the 30 / a. Military area.
Commander of the 8 / a. Military area.
Commander of the IV Military Region.
His career includes positions in Planning agencies at a tactical and strategic level, the following stand out:

Head of the First Section of the General Staff of the 26 / a. Military area.
Information Officer of the Task Force “Marte VII” (Badiraguato, Sin.).
Assistant to the Senior Officer of the Secretariat of National Defense.
Deputy Chief of the Sixth Section of the Presidential General Staff.
Deputy Chief of the Fifth Section of the Presidential General Staff.
Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the 20 / a. Military area.
Assistant to the C. General of Division D.E.M., Undersecretary of National Defense.
Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the “Sánchez” Group (Las Tacitas, Chis).
Chief of the Fifth Section (Strategic Plans) of the National Defense General Staff.
Operational Deputy Chief of the National Defense General Staff.
He has also held positions of an Administrative nature, the most important being:

Defense, Military and Air Attaché attached to the Embassy of Mexico, in the United States of America, based in Washington, D.C.
Delegate of Mexico to the Inter-American Defense Board.
Seminar “Peacekeeping Operations: antecedents, experiences and perspectives” at the Ministry of Foreign Relations.
Participated as a speaker at table six “Prospective of the Mexican Army towards 2030” with the theme “Humanitarian Aid and support to the Civilian Population in cases of disaster” in the General Directorate of Military Education and Rectory of the University of the Army and Air Force .
