This week marks California’s annual “Wildfire Preparedness Week.”

To emphasize the critical importance of making sure families and homes are prepared for wildfires, the Los Angeles County Fire Department (LACoFD) will host a news conference with local, State, and federal leaders to remind residents about the Ready! Set! Go! public education campaign.

With current drought conditions and below-average rainfall to date, forecasters predict yet another challenging summer and fall.  Additionally, live fuel moistures are steadily declining below the historical average, increasing the threat for wildfires.
