During the meeting, both foreign ministers reaffirmed their commitment to energize the bilateral relationship, with the purpose of establishing a strategic relationship. They talked about the joint challenges in the face of the health crisis caused by COVID-19 and ratified the will of both governments to promote joint solidarity projects whose priority will be the well-being of the peoples, social inclusion and sustainable development.
They also reviewed the bilateral economic agenda and agreed on the importance of taking advantage of the potential of both economies by reviewing the Economic Complementation Agreement (ACE-66).
At the regional level, the foreign ministers reaffirmed their mutual commitment to continue strengthening the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (Celac) as a crucial actor to promote regional integration. They also indicated that the exclusively technical, objective, and impartial nature of the Electoral Observation Missions of the Organization of American States (OAS) will be promoted, in accordance with the spirit of its founding charter.
Likewise, they announced that at the end of the official visit of President Arce, a Joint Declaration will be issued whose content will incorporate the main commitments between both governments at the bilateral and regional level.
