As of August 22, 2020, the LACoFD has sent five engine strike teams that have been assigned to the Scotts Valley area to help battle the CZU August Lightning Complex Fire.  Each engine strike team consists of five engines and one battalion chief; in total, we have 23 engines and 101 personnel deployed to assist with firefighting operations.  Many Southern California fire agencies are providing assistance and aiding in the battle.

This week, Northern and Central California experienced unusual weather, including lightning strikes, that have sparked hundreds of deadly and destructive wildfires.  Please be assured this deployment to assist with the CZU August Lightning Complex Fire will not impact the delivery of emergency services to our Los Angeles County residents and communities.
