Councilmember Monica Rodriguez presented a motion at City Council on September 11, 2019 to name the intersection at Commerce and Valmont  “William Saroyan Square” with a “Permanent Ceremonial Sign”.  Councilman Paul Krekorian seconded the motion.*

No public community meetings have been held yet regarding this naming of the intersection at Commerce and Valmont.  The STNC Land Use Committee discuss this motion at their special joint board meeting on Monday, 7 p.m. and a Special Meeting of the STNC Board will also take place at 7:30 p.m. to submit a Community Impact Statement (CIS).
The vote by City Council will be heard on Tuesday, Oct. 8th. at 10:00 a.m. at Los Angeles City Hall, 200 N. Spring Street.  This is why discussion and possible action are on the LUC and Special Board meeting agendas.
Over 200 individual comments have been added to the City Council File.
