The Los Angeles Football Club (LAFC) returns to league action on Friday, July 12 as the Club takes on the Houston Dynamo at BBVA Stadium. The first of two regular season meetings is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. PT and will be broadcast on UniMás, ESPN 710 AM, and 980 AM ‘La Mera Mera’.
Less than 48 hours ago, LAFC was eliminated from this year’s edition of the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup after falling 1-0 to the Portland Timbers at Banc of California Stadium on Wednesday night.
Meanwhile, with a record of 7-0-3 at BBVA Stadium, Houston remains one of three undefeated teams at home this season, with their last defeat in Houston taking place on October 21, 2018 – falling 3-2 to the Seattle Sounders FC.
Last year, LAFC earned one win and one draw in regular season play against Houston – tying 2-2 at BBVA Stadium on July 3 before downing the Dynamo 4-2 on October 12 in Los Angeles. The two sides also met in the Semifinals of the 2018 U.S. Open Cup, with LAFC falling 7-6 in penalties after playing to a 3-3 draw.
