The Los Angeles Football Club (LAFC) announced today that the Club has transferred midfielder André Horta to Portuguese side SC Braga.

“We would like to thank André for his contribution to the Club,” said EVP of Soccer Operations & General Manager John Thorrington. “This deal makes good sense for both LAFC and André, and we wish him the best in the next phase of his career at Braga.”

Since joining LAFC during last year’s summer transfer window from SL Benfica, Horta appeared in 15 regular season matches, making five starts. Horta returns to Portugal where he spent the first four seasons of his career with Benfica and Braga.

Next up for the Black & Gold is a Fourth Round U.S. Open Cup matchup against Real Salt Lake on Tuesday, June 11 at 7:00 p.m. PT at Rio Tinto Stadium (ESPN+, ESPN App). LAFC then returns to league play on Friday, June 28 on the road against the Colorado Rapids at 7:00 p.m. PT at DICK’s Sporting Goods Park (UniMás, ESPN 710 AM, KFWB 980 AM).
