The Los Angeles Football Club (LAFC) routed Columbus Crew SC 3-0 on Saturday evening at MAPFRE Stadium. With the win, the Black & Gold continue to sit atop the MLS standings with a 8-1-3 record (27 points).
Midfielder Mark Anthony Kaye scored first for LAFC in the 37th minute, the lone goal of the first half of play. The Black & Gold would go on to score two more in the second stanza through Adama Diomande in the 88th minute, his first tally since Week 2 on March 10, and Carlos Vela’s league-leading 12th goal of the season two minutes later.
All three of LAFC’s road wins in 2019 have been shutouts after the Club earned back-to-back victories against the San Jose Earthquakes on March 30 (5-0) and D.C. United on April 6 (4-0).
LAFC returns home to face FC Dallas next Thursday, May 16 at Banc of California Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. PT on Sunday, April 28 (ESPN2, ESPN LA 710, KFWB 980).
