“Los Angeles County is doing its part to address the crisis of homelessness, as well as the dire affordable housing shortage that is forcing even more men, women and children into homelessness.

“While the Governor’s May Revise sets aside funds for emergency grants to tackle the crisis, bolder action and more systemic intervention is needed – one-time funds just won’t cut it.

“A new California state Senate budget proposal that would allocate $5 billion over four years to increase the construction of affordable housing and fund immediate and long-term solutions to homelessness is a step in the right direction.”
