Northern Trust Open announces general spectator parking, shuttle, alternative transportation information for 2016

LOS ANGELES (February 5, 2016) – Northern Trust Open tournament officials are pleased to announce plans for general spectator parking for the 2016 event.  Fans are encouraged to familiarize themselves with the parking plan, which is different than in past years, or take advantage of one of many shuttle or alternative transportation options to avoid unnecessary delays and help ensure the best, most enjoyable tournament experience possible.  The Northern Trust Open is set to return to The Riviera Country Club in Pacific Palisades, Calif., Feb. 15-21, 2016.
PARKING: Monday, February 15

For the first time, the Northern Trust Open will be open to spectators on Monday for the Northern Trust Open Collegiate Showcase presented by Sands Cares.  Gates will be open 7:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. and limited concessions will be available; photos are permitted and the autograph area will be open.  Tickets are $19, available via[] (Ticketmaster has waived all fees for advance purchasers) or at the gate, and anyone under the age of 18 can attend free of charge.  All proceeds from Northern Trust Open Collegiate Showcase presented by Sands Cares ticket sales will benefit the Northern Trust Open’s official charity partner, City of Hope.
PARKING: Wednesday, February 17, through Sunday, February 21

Fans who purchase a Northern Trust Open ticket by Wednesday, February 10, will receive a letter in the mail with a parking assignment, parking validation and a map of the downtown Santa Monica public parking lots.  Only one parking validation will be issued per ticket order, per day, and will only be valid for the assigned parking lot.
Fans who purchase a Northern Trust Open ticket between February 11 and February 16 will receive an email with a parking assignment and a map of the downtown Santa Monica public parking lots. No validation is included; a parking fee will apply.
Fans who purchase a Northern Trust Open ticket on or later than February 17 will be directed to general parking at the Santa Monica Civic Center parking lot located on 4th Street between Pico Boulevard and the 10 freeway. A parking fee will apply.
As with any large-scale sporting event, fans are encouraged to carpool or make use of public transportation to the Northern Trust Open in order to minimize traffic and congestion. Below are some convenient options.
·         Complimentary shuttle buses are available to all ticketed spectators.
·         Short, 10-15 minute ride to The Riviera Country Club
·         Pick up/drop off at 333 Civic Center Drive[] or 1447 2nd Street[] in Downtown Santa Monica
·         Fans will be dropped off at the main General Public Entrance at Riviera, located on Longworth Street, which is the same place they will board the shuttle to depart the event.
·         The Northern Trust Open has partnered with Uber to ensure a seamless pickup and drop-off experience for fans.
·         Take advantage of the Uber-dedicated pick-up/drop-off area in the circle at Paul Revere Middle School[] (1450 Allenford Avenue, Los Angeles), which is a short walk to the main gate.
·         Fans new to Uber can use promo code “NTOpen16” to receive $20 off their first ride.
·         Metro Bus – The Metro Bus closest to The Riviera Country Club is Local Line 2 Sunset/Allenford[].
·         Bike Valet – The Northern Trust Open will also offer valet bike parking at the Longworth Gate. Guests should walk through the entrance and receive a valet bike stub after the bike is secured. A bike rack will be provided for parking bikes at the Capri Entrance.

What started as the Los Angeles Open in 1926 at Los Angeles Country Club, the Northern Trust Open is now one of the longest-running tournaments on the PGA TOUR, being played for the 90th time this year. Also, as part of its support for the Birdies for the Brave military outreach initiative, complimentary grounds admission tickets for active duty, Reserve, military retirees, non-retired veterans and dependents to the Northern Trust Open are available from Wednesday through Sunday of tournament week.
